Things You Can Do With A Star Tip!
The star tip is undoubtedly the most useful and the most famous tip. With a star tip, available in many different sizes, you can create stars, flowers, borders, rosettes, shells, French lilies and much more.
Before you start with the piping you will need a couple of tips in different sizes.
My recommendation is:
- For small stars: Tip No. 16, 18, 21, 32 and 199 These tip fits in small coupling.
- For big stars: tip No. 4B, 6B and 1M. These tip fit on a large coupling.
Before you start:
Fill the bag with a frosting that is not too loose for the peaks to stay upright. Are you right-handed, do the movements from left to right. Hold bag at a 90 degree angle
Small star:
- Keep tip lace just above the surface of the substrate
- Press with a flat and still and short press so that frosting attaches itself in an approximately 2 mm thick layer.
- Cut off, press and lift off the tip. If the star gets a high peak, you have not stopped pushing until you lift off the tip. It is necessary to do so before torque is completed to get a nice and perfect ending. The most important thing, when it comes to making perfect stars is to completely stop squizing before the tip is lifted off and to keep the bag with tip in a fully upright position (90 degrees).
Exercise:
Make a couple of lines with close fitting stars who have all the same size and height.
A band of stars
A number of stars can be used as a nice ending around the edge of a decorated cake. Always try to get the small stars so much alike and regularly as possible and place them close together.
Small star to cover decoration
To cover an entire surface with small smooth and tight-fitting Star is an excellent method to get a fine and distinct area of a motive cake. The most important thing for a good result is that the stars are equal and that they are really tight.
Triple star tip
With a triple tip can you easily do three tight-fitting stars with a pressure. Perfect when you are decorating a lot and want to work quickly and efficiently. The size corresponds trippel tip No 18
