10 Short Baking Tips!
Making stylish cake decorations is fun. But, in order to make them you have to know the basics of baking. Here is therefore some simple advice / tips on what you should think about when you are baking!
- Always roll marzipan using potato flour that is easy to brush off the marzipan.
- Whip up a few extra egg whites and put it into the Cake mixture if you want it more fluffy.
- Do you want chocolate cake really dark in color – use baking soda instead of baking powder. Half the amount of baking powder.
- Whip cream with 1 teaspoon cold stirred custard powder per dL and you will get a firmer and tastier cream.
- When you bake muffins, place foil on a plate before you put on the filled molds so you do not burn the bottom.
- Add a pinch of salt as you whip egg whites and you will get high and durable foam.
- Never allow the custard to come into direct contact with marzipan when you make a cake. The vanilla cream will melt the marzipan.
- Try to take out the eggs from the refrigerator a few hour before baking and let them reach room temperature. By doing so, the baking result will get much better.
- If you don’t have have dark chocolate at home, it can be replaced by 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 15g butter and 2 tablespoons sugar. Equal to 25 g of chocolate.
- If you put a frozen cake in the refrigerator, it will thaw in just 3 hours.
